Scope

From a file to a part you can hold

If you already have an STL, STEP or 3MF, we print it straight away. If there is no file yet we model it first and then print — when both come from the same place, the “your file would not print” email never happens.

We check the model before it goes on the bed: are the walls thick enough, where will supports land, which orientation makes the part strongest. Parts printed without that check often break in your hand; we tell you before it is printed, not after.

Where it helps

What people print most

3D printing earns its keep on one-off, made-for-you parts: the things where tooling makes no sense, that you cannot buy off a shelf, and whose dimensions are whatever you need them to be.

Limits honestly

What we cannot print

The machine is an open-frame FDM printer. That means high-temperature materials such as ABS, ASA, polycarbonate and nylon do not come out reliably — they warp and crack. If your part needs one of those, we say so up front.

The very fine detail a resin (SLA) printer gives is also out of reach on FDM; layer lines are visible up close. For jewellery, miniatures and dental work we flag that before you order.

Parts over 256 mm can be split and bonded, but that does not suit every job. Metal printing, certified food-contact parts and medical use are outside what we do.

FAQ 4 questions

Common questions about 3D printing

I have no file, just a broken part. Is that enough?
It is. We measure the part, model it and then print. An intact example or clear photographs make it easier, and caliper measurements make it easier still.
Which material should I pick?
PLA covers most jobs: easy to print, dimensionally accurate, inexpensive. For parts that live outdoors or take some stress, PETG holds up better. For gaskets and bumpers that need to flex we use TPU. Tell us what the part has to do and we will pick for you.
How many can I order?
From one part to a small batch. For runs in the hundreds, 3D printing usually stops making sense — at that point tooling or another process is cheaper, and we will tell you so.
What if my part is larger than 256 mm?
We split it at sensible joints, print the pieces and bond them. There can be a visible seam, so we decide together whether that is acceptable for where the part will be used.
